The Monterey Bay Coastal Ocean (MB) forecast system uses a nested version of the Regional Ocean Modeling System (ROMS) to produce 3 day forecasts of ocean conditions using the nowcast for 03 UTC as an initial condition (see MB ROMS nowcast page). The innermost (MB) domain encompasses the greater Monterey Bay region out to about 150 km offshore, with a horizontal resolution of approximately 300 m and 40 vertical levels. Images based on hourly output of surface temperature, salinity, currents and height (SSH) are presented here.
